There are only two regular season games left for the high school teams in Alabama before the final four and championship weekend. For those curious, here is how the seedings look:
#1 Hoover - 10-0
#2 Homewood - 6-4 with games VS Vestavia and Huntsville left
#3 Mountain Brook - 6-4 with games VS Hoover and John Carroll left
#4 Spain Park 5-4 with two games VS John Carroll and one against Hoover left
#5 John Carroll 4-5 still having to play Spain Park twice and Mountain Brook
#6 Vestavia 3-7 Huntsville/Homewood left
#7 Huntsville 0-10 Vestavia and Homewood left
Hoover is locked in the #1 spot but 2 through 4 can change with the remaining games. Mountain Brook fell to John Carroll last night so if John Carroll can upset them again and beat Spain Park twice, they could jump into the playoff mix. Homewood should be able to hold their #2 spot but the way this year has gone, you never know !
JV is going to be interesting, looks like there will be a great battle between Briarwood, Hoover, Vestavia and Mountain Brook for the championship. All 8 JV teams make the playoffs and play two playoff games before the championship so you never know who will take it.
In the girls high school division it looks like Vestavia may be the favorite at this point with Mountain Brook a close second. Girls play a final four like the varsity boys and right now spots 3 & 4 are wide open for either Hoover, John Carroll, Huntsville or Spain Park to grab. Should be an exciting finish !
