In Vegas

Right after the tournament I had to unload the truck, put the store somewhat back together and head to Las Vegas for a convention. My kids at the store are great, sometimes they do dumb things that make me yell at them but they know I appreciate them and they always come through when I need them. Scott picked some things up at the house yesterday, got them to the store and tried to get everything back to normal while I've been gone. We were supposed to play Huntsville last night but the game was cancelled, Hoover's JV "B" team plays Spain Park right now and it looks like my games against Mountain Brook may get rained out tomorrow which would be awesome since I really hate to miss that game. Mountain Brook and Hoover are always great games, each team gets pumped up to play each other and they are usually close. Mountain Brook has struggled a bit this year but after playing each team (other than Huntsville) at least once this year, I'd say they were the best team we have faced other than Greenville and Nashville. So, I guess I should say they were the best team in the state we have faced.

Got an e-mail today letting me know there was an article about the John Carroll team in the Birmingham news today but since I'm in Vegas I didn't get to see it and I can't find it on-line. Not sure what the article is about but I suspect it has to do with their tournament win down in Mississippi. John Carroll still has to play Mountain Brook twice, Spain park twice and us once more so they have the tough part of their schedule still to go. This is the third lacrosse article this season in the paper, one last week about Jaquan from our inner city team, there was an article about the inner city girls team and now John Carroll so the more the sport is in the news, the better !

Well, I'm off to dinner in Vegas, trying to keep my mind off lacrosse but having a hard time doing it. I'll be fired up when I get back this weekend, looking forward to warm weather in April and green grass for a change !!
